WebGate is a joint-stock company established in 1997. In 2001 the company received funding by the private venture capital fund Bulventures which fuelled the implementation of our product strategy resulting in a line of successful proprietary telecommunication solutions and Symbian OS-based end-user applications.

Through the years WebGate exhibited steady organic growth gaining market presence on the worldwide markets as a software development outsourcing partner as well as a provider of Symbian OS mobile applicaions to end-users and channel partners.

In 2005, in the wake of its 3-year experience in the Symbian OS mobile domain and the strategic commitment to this technology, WebGate was granted the highest partnership levels with Symbian and SonyEricsson membership programs and was recognized as a Symbian Platinum Technology Partner and Sony Ericsson Premier Partner. We are also Forum Nokia Pro member and Orange Premium Partner.

Today, the company is structured into 5 technology teams underpinning our core lines of activities: two Java™ teams, a Symbian™ OS team and two PHP teams accommodated in our two offices in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Our software services have been used by some 50 clients worldwide to whom we have provided consultancy and development of a number of web based solutions: content management systems, back-end systems for information management and other web-based e-business solutions.

Some of our clients (Bulgarian National Television, Commission for Protection of Competition, MobiusStudios USA, etc) have become our long-term partners for consultancy and further software development projects. For the past 4 years WebGate has been a strategic technology partner of Global Market Insite, USA, building a complete suite of software applications for market research professionals.
